but he goes & picks me up from school to take me to the dr, clean the house, do laundry, & make me some tasty food.

im so lucky.

however, he does say that we need to trade my body in for a new one.

about a year ago, my family went snow mobiling!

it was soo fun & one of the best times ever!

soon my brother will be leaving on his mission to boise, idaho for 2 years.

i hope that we will have more fun memories with the family before then!

& by the way, i realize that the pants i am wearing are 10x too big.

how sad is it that those were the only siz for the pants that would be long enough.

this mostly started because i am ocd & i dont like any planners out there in the world.

well, thats not true.

i do like some, but i cant bring myself to spend $50-$100 for it.

even if they are soo pretty!

anyway, so i have decided to make my own & personalize it to my needs.

2011: the good, the bad, & the ugly

while looking back on 2011, i feel happy & sad.

this year has brought good memories & accomplishments, but also experiences that i wish didnt occur.

however, i have come to realize that this is life.

there is never a year where it was totally perfect & nothing went wrong.

there are things that make us scared for the future, things that we weren't ready for, and things that we wish could have been different.

yeah, i wish chad's mom would just get better & that my papa didnt have to suffer the way he did.

but these experiences make us grow & become who we are.

plus, when i look at all the good that has happened in 2011, i cant help but feel blessed.

overall, this was a good year!

it was full of spending time with family and friends...and, of course, school.

my mom recently gave me this good size box with TONS of pictures inside.
she said it looked like they were all of me so she said i should have it.
of course i looked through every picture :)
& of course chad made fun of how im obsessed with old pictures.
[ but thats besides the point. ]
however, there were little surprises inside!
looks like these pictures were taken when my parents were dating/engaged.
they loved skiing...both water & snow!
its always fun for me to look at photos of when people were younger....especially my parents.
im just wondering how my dad seeriously looks the exact same??
i hope i get them aging genes :)

while in idaho for my papa's funeral, we felt honored to stay at my mom's friend, jane's, house.
jane has been a family friend since my mom's childhood. she is the sweetest lady in the world & her family has been through A LOT.
it is no doubt that she definitely deserved extreme makeover home edition to makeover her house. how cool is that??
they made a little apartment for her to rent out to others for some extra income & this is where we stayed for a few nights.
it was darling. & totally made me want to redecorate my house.
check it out.

she changed little things here & there from what they had done, but i think it makes the place better!
i love the little desk...sooo cute with the typewriter.
& one of my favorite things about this little "bungalow" (as chad called it), was this huge cherry tree right outside the stairs, which made it perfect for picking.

i always remember my papa as extremely active, healthy, a jokester, and someone i always had a bond with.
he taught me how to play basketball, tennis, drive (at age 12!), and many other things.
he trusted others & made everyone feel special.
he was diagnosed with prostate cancer about a year ago.
he went through many hormone, radiation, and chemo treatments.
nothing worked.
the cancer spread to his bladder & bone.
the doctors then named the cancer "unknown primary carcinoma".
he didnt want to give up.
my nana & papa moved down here to try a more naturopathic way of healing.
6 weeks & tons of money spent later, the pain got unbearable & the cancer still spread.
on july 10th, he passed away.
it seems selfish of me to feel like it was a blessing that i was able to spend so much time with him these last few months.
i learned tons about his life & accomplishments.
he was a great man & the best papa.
we just got back from the funeral.
it was great to see family & the people that adored him.
there are any things that i would like to add to my life that he made a part of his.
i learned a lot from my papa & he will definitely be missed.

one of my favorite things about scuba diving is seeing all of the wildlife under water. there are so many different types of sea creatures! on this trip to cozumel, i saw more of the coolest things under water than i have anywhere before.

oh because it has.
when school got out for summer, i pictured my time being spent out by the pool getting a sweet tan & being lazy.
too bad i have been just as busy as when i was in school.

thurs- clean parentals house...at least im gettin paid :)

sat- clean my own house
sun- church
im totally looking foward to a real summer vacation! cant wait for scuba diving in cozumel in a couple weeks!

anyway, i feel so behind on my following of the internets :) i will be doing some catching up tonight...& watching the bachlorette!
(maybe thats why i dont have time for anything? i watch too much tv? nah.)

& i should bring my camera.
my brother & i were not prepared for a little hike as we were dressed in our pj's & slippers.

but when we got to horseshoe bend, it was such a pretty site to see!
you can't see the whole "horseshoe" in this picture because it was extremely windy & i was afraid of being blown off the edge! & falling to my death!

i love going away on vacation.
visiting family, friends, new places, old places...i just love it.
last week i went to utah and idaho to visit some family & it was bitter sweet.

sad part was chad wasn't able to come. yeah, he's a workin man.
& even though it was a much needed vaca, it was good to come home to my hubby, who i missed.
& missed me :)

as my break from school is quickly coming to an end, i realized that i haven't accomplished as much as i wanted!
one big thing was to put together my craft room. chad was so nice to buy me some drawer type organizers and shelves for christmas.
well, this project is a definite project my friends. man, oh man, that room in such disarray.
however, i decided that now was the time & the project started today!
well, it was mixed in with going to the movies & hanging out my momma.
she was so kind to come over & help me put together these organizers, which took foooorrrever by the way.
but i am glad to finally get started! so excited!
i have always struggled with what i would like the room to look like, colors, etc.
so i decided to create a little inspirational board for myself to keep me on track.

back in september, chad & i had the pleasure of being stand-ins for a practice photo sesh.
i was a little worried because it had just been over a year that we were married & the memory of taking engagement/ wedding pictures was fresh in my mind.
chad doesnt do well with taking photos for more than 30 mins.
he is bored very easily. but he was a trooper & we had fun!

happy new year everyone!
there wasn't anything eventful that happened over here.
hubby and i just snuggled together watching a movie & ryan seacrest ring in the new year while sucking on cough drops & blowing noses.
we both are very sick :(
way to start the new year huh?
....
2010 pretty much sucked, especially for chads side of the family, as seen here & here.
to add to the bad news...we have found out that my papa has stage 4 prostate cancer.
curse you, freakin cancer.
but i am glad to say that the year ended with very good news. chads mom had a scare because her cancer count kept going up. we were thinking that she would have to do another round of chemo. however, the c-scan came back showing no tumors/cancer!
yay! cancer free! & hope it stays that way!
it was just the scar tissue in her lungs throwing off the numbers.
she has definitely been through a lot this year & i pray she stays healthy.
i must say, there were some fun times of 2010 as well.
vacations. one year. camping. new wood floors. dental hygiene school. & so much more!
i guess i shouldnt be talking so much smack about 2010.
but i think its safe for me to say that i hope 2011 is better!

this past weekend didnt only contain labor day, but my 23rd bday!
i kinda love that my birthday falls around labor day.
did you know that my mom was actually in labor on labor day?
how silly...well more painful than silly....but still
aaannyyway, i had such a fun weekend.

but i can tell you it was awesome.
sister kylie came down from utah & did my hair...those 4" roots were in desperate need!
i spent a whole day with hubby chad being lazy bums...which pretty much never happens.
and of course it is always fun to spend time with family.

so like i said before, we have some new floors!

now here are the promised pictures :)
BEFORE

as you an see... there is some dingy grey carpet with some sort of tile pathway.
no good...no good.
it totally made the whole room look smaller.so in order to get this thing a-movin, chad & his friends had some demolition to do.
i came home from work to concrete floors with a pile of broken tile in the center of room.
oh & this...on ev.ry.thing.
dust. a lot of dust.
the next step is putting it all in.
look at chad working so hard.we also put in new baseboards, which needed to be painted. however, it was pouring rain outside-out of nowhere!-so we had to paint them on the newly put in floor...nervous!
i totally thought we would get done & have white paint specks everywhere.
but no worries! we are pros.
so after ripping out carpet, hammering out tile, painting the ceiling white, laying the wood floors, painting & putting in new baseboards...
4 days later, here is the AFTER!

this was mine & chads first big project & good thing we had a lot of help!
chads friends were awesome for doing so much.
now im just looking for a big fluffy rug to put by the couches...
i love our little house :)

i dont know what wrong with me.
im some what obsessed with old pictures/ home videos.
maybe a little more lately?
i spend a lot of time looking at my childhood scrapbook that my nana made me, my mom & dads wedding album, & just old photo albums in general.
i ALWAYS want to watch home videos....
& i mean on a weekly basis.
chad seems to get dragged into watching them with me. :)
everyone makes fun of me for it & says that i "live in the past" & other heeelarious stuff.

sorry i have been mia for the last week & a half!
we have been busy on a very big project....
new wood floors!
& painted ceiling, new baseboards, new rug...
& im soo excited its all finished.

the battery charger started on fire!
it has been a crazy week as you can tell.

so i was going through some pics on the comp the other day & found these fun little things.

a while back, chads brother & sister in law invited us to spend some time in the great outdoors with them.
it was pretty awesome.

we lounged around.

watched some tv on the itty-bitty portable tv.
seriously.

chads brother helped us fill up our air mattress...
cuz...yeah...we arent what you would call a boyscout, like aaron is. :)

oh & you know what else makes us pretty much awsome?

that we totally didnt even fit in our tent.
yes friends, chad & i are too abnormally tall to fit into a tent.
awesome.
so after setting up camp chad & i went on a little hike.
...about 50 yrds away haha
but it was a really pretty view!

the next day we woke up to this lovely sunrise...

yes people. i woke up when the sun was still rising.
that has never happened unless forced.
& it was pretty!
later that day we went fishin!
chad was annoyed with me most of the time cuz he would have to keep hooking my line or whatever its called.
i told him i was going to catch a fish & he wouldnt cuz girls rule & boys drule.
lo & behold...
i did it! :)

age: 17 height: 6'9" & likes to play some b-ball.
one day while shootin some hoops, we had a little spur of the moment photo sesh.

hes actually quite the model. i didnt ever tell him what to do! i just said, "hey, stand right here." & all the sudden he was posing. haha

chads grandpa died a couple weeks ago & his funeral was last weekend.
we were able to go to the little town of thatcher to say our good-byes.
it kinda makes me sad that i didnt really know him that well. when i became part of the family, his hearing wasnt very good & his health was up & down.
but anytime he got sick, he always bounced back.
what amazes me is the man was just a couple months short of 96 years old!
he walked around walmart every day, even when he had his little oxygen tank.
chad & one of his brothers were talking about grandpa on the way home, about how he used to do backflips off the high dive...in his 70's!
i totally want to be like that.
the funeral was awesome. i learned grandpa lived such an amazing life & accomplished so much! he was just ending highschool during the great depresssion, was a WWII veteran, a doctorate & teacher in music, had a close-knit family, & later in life started making jewelry with beautiful stones.
& out of all his accomplishments, people couldnt talk enought about what a kind & gentle person he was.
how awesome is that?

ive only been to 2 funerals.
my grandpa & chad's grandpa.
both times i left thinking what people would say at my funeral!
yikes.
gotta start doing something with my life!!

a while ago chad & i went to the pheonix zoo with some friends!

this is gabe & steph.
they came to visit us before leaving for the jungles of costa rica for 6 months!

so before they left, we wanted to do something fun & the zoo was calling our name.

we had fun & saw soo many animals!
like pretty birds...

he definately made the zoo experience when he pounced on the female monkey & made her do things she didnt want to. i thought the zoo was a "G" environment! but this monkey did not care if little children were watching & asking, "mommy, what is he doing?"

so when i was went utah, i didnt know i was leaving beautiful warm weather...

for this.

um. seriously?
snow?
my auntie's backyard was supposed to have corn, berries, & beautiful flowers in bloom!
i guess thats when it wasnt freakin cold outside.
{yes i am from az & anything under 60 degrees is freezing! haha!}
but somehow utah is still so pretty & i love it up there.

we were there for my cousin's wedding, which i guess makes everything more beautiful!
oh, i love weddings.

the flowers were so pretty.
tulips were everywhere & i looove tulips.
pretty much one of my faves.

im so glad i got to spend time with family.
i havent seen most of my dad's side of the family since i got married & it was so good to visit with everyone.
especially my sister!
why did you move away again?
i miss you too much.
oh how i love vacations.
even if they are for like...a day.

...that even tho i have been married for almost a year (3 weeks from today!), that im still pretty much obsessed with weddings?
im pretty sure i get it from my mom.
after leaving a reception, we discuss what we loved about all the decor, the dress, etc.
& if one of us goes to a reception with out the other, we always keep each other up to date.
i dont see this ending any time soon. haha!

but some of my favorite memories are of staying at my auntie normas house for the summer.

so far, spring has been good to me.

maybe because this is the first semester that i havent had any school in like...
my whole life!!

so what have i been up to?
well, my family invited chad & i to disneyland!
sounds so fun right?
well well well.
chad & i were quite relunctant on how fun this trip would be.
you see, we have gone to disneyland before on a day activity for a dance our senior year.
this trip did not end so well.
mostly...& i hate to admit it...because of me.
you put me in the situation of no sleep, TOM {Time Of the Month} , & walking all day all at once...
things get ugly.
chad could do no good that trip. i was annoyed. & on the verge of breaking up with him.
therefore, you can see our reluctance.
but i believe this trip was going to be different.
we had to redeem ourselves!

the whole gang. we are all quite tall.

this trip, my eyes were opened! everything is so pretty.
i loved the look of all the little shops.

we celebrated her bday a little early because of the chemo schedule.
i never got to thank all those who gave such sweet comments about her. there are so many people praying for her & she tells me she definatley feels the love.
shes been going through some more difficulties & has been in the hospital for 2 weeks now, so she could still use more prayers, im sure!

i made this little book for chad for valentines day.

{yes i realize that it was like a month ago. time is flying by!}

anywho, i wanted to show my love by for him actually making him something instead of just going out and buying a measley cheap present.

we are trying to be a little more frugal lately & i thought it would be fun to make him a little book of stuff i already had.

when chad was on his mission for our church for 2 years we wrote every couple of weeks to each other. during that time i realized that it was so much easier for me to share my feelings by writing than using my acutal voice. i kinda miss writing letters to him! so i guess this was a little gift for me too by letting him know why i love him & why he means so much to me :)

i guess im not really the type of person to share a whole lot of my personal personal life...especially on the internet. of course i share little tid-bits here & there. but for the most part, people dont need to know my bidness! :)

however, today is a little different.
our family has been going through a little bit of a trial this month. chads mom was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer a couple weeks ago.
she has been going through tons of surgeries & procedures since then that involve trying to remove all the cancer that has spread to draining the liguid from her lungs & stomach that keeps re-appearing.
she has definately been through a lot in such a short amount of time. spending the night with her in the hospital last night has opened my eyes more than before & definately made me grateful of the blessing i have...like health!
she is such a strong lady with the sweetest heart & definately has a motherly, comforting way about her even when she isnt feeling so good.
she starts her first day out of a 5 month long chemo treatment tonight & if you could keep her in your prayers for strenght & comfort that would be awesome.

my laptop is still not fixed.
they dell man told me how much it would cost to "try" to fix it & we decided that paying taxes were more important.
taxes suck.
so my m.i.a-ness (is that a word? i think not.) will probably continue for some time.
but luckily chad's parents have kindly given their old computer from the office to us.

anywho.today husband & i pretty much followed this cute little painting quite well for the most part of the day.pretty fitting since here in az its been trickling rain all day.
plus its saturday! now that i am married, saturday has turned from "chore day" to "lazy day".
